We used PK builders to design and renovate our basement. They were understanding of our vision and goals and kept our budget in at top of their priorities. We absolutely love our space and would definitely recommend PK builders!

This is a long overdue review, but PKB did an amazing job with our back deck. The process, from working with their design team, through to build, was easy and clear. Our project manager, Chris, was excellent. Our finished project is beautiful, and given that we have now been using the deck for over a year, I can say that the workmanship and quality has shown. The design team helped us make choices, and even made some material recommendations that we ended up using (e.g., adding a pergola) that we wouldn't have otherwise considered - and we've loved those choices. Overall, I would (and have) recommend PKB to friends, family, and neighbors, and I would work with them again without thinking twice.

Paul and his team (specifically his project mgr Tim) did a great job on our renovation project planned and conducted during the height of COVID. Planning and attention to detail as well as the quality of the work was of utmost importance to us and they met our expectations. Despite long wait times for products we were kept informed in a timely manner. Despite a few minor hiccups with vendors - keeping everything in proper perspective everything went well. Tim was exceptional in staying on top of the work, vendors, and any changes/issues and communicating with us and staying calm :).

We have used Paul Kowalski Builders for 2 separate remodeling jobs at our home and have been extremely pleased both times. Most recently we completed a kitchen remodel project. Paul and his team were extremely professional, organized, and provided excellent communication throughout the project. Our project manager was always available by phone or text and readily responded to any questions or issues that came up. Using the BuilderTrend app we were able to see everything about our project at a glance - the schedule, payment plan, daily project notes, photos, and design selections. Such a great tool! This review is extremely overdue, but I’ve also had a great deal of time to reflect on my experience with Paul and his team, so hopefully it’s actually a more useful review than if I left it immediately after my project wrapped up. We hired PKB to build a hybrid garage/carport about two years ago now. For some additional context, we actually renovated our entire home a few years prior to this project, and the experience with that contractor was so bad that we held off for a long while before starting this project. Given that awful prior experience, we were very selective with who we wanted to hire for this project. We already had the design/drawings, so we didn’t utilize those services from PKB. We initially met with Paul, and were impressed with his ability to assess our needs. The estimate came in higher than we originally expected, but it was mostly in line with quotes we received elsewhere. Based on our initial impression of Paul and the other finished projects he built in our neighborhood, we decided to hire PKB. When we learned that Paul wasn’t personally going to serve as our project manager, we were initially disappointed, but all of our concerns disappeared pretty quickly once we met with Gennady, who was the PM for our project. It was clear that Gennady understood our needs and budget, and he offered some extremely useful advice along the way in terms of design changes that would optimize the space and make it more functional long-term. Overall, Gennady was super responsive, personable, and easy to work with. I’d gladly work with him again if we take on any future projects. I was initially skeptical of the Builder Trend app that PKB leverages to communicate with clients, but it was actually super useful. It provided a high level of transparency into what the team was working on at any given time, and it helped me understand why we were waiting with no progress in certain situations that would’ve otherwise frustrated me (permits, inspections, material deliveries, etc). Overall, I’d say the app definitely added value to the process. In terms of the work quality, it was great and certainly met our expectations. We had a minor issue with some exterior ceiling panels, but Gennady worked with us to ensure that we were satisfied in the end. A few minor cosmetic items came up within the warranty period, and Gennady was super responsive and attentive to those needs. It was also simple to submit the warranty request via the Builder Trend app. Overall, we are very pleased with the outcome, but it’s always important to keep in mind that materials aren’t perfect and neither are the humans that install them, so no project will be without its minor faults. The team was respectful of our property and cleaned up thoroughly once the project was done, including repairing the lawn damage from machinery. In the end, I was impressed with PKB and even referred my parents to them for a garage project. Unfortunately they tried to go with a bottom dollar contractor instead and have regretted that decision greatly. I would wholeheartedly recommend PKB for any project, and they will definitely be my first call if we have any future construction needs. Many thanks to Gennady and Paul.

Excellent work and project manager was the best we’ve ever had experience with.

We recently had 2 full bathrooms completely renovated by PKB and could not be happier. The process from beginning to end was outstanding. Everything we needed done was completed under the PKB roof. This included design, consultation, and work. Our project manager was very professional and communicative and kind. Our designer listened to our needs and made the decision making process easier than we thought possible. All of the workers that came through the house were professional and polite and very clean. The communication between everyone was one of the aspects that made the project so seamless. I could not have imagined this project going any better and we are already looking forward to using PKB for next project.

We used PKB for a floor over where we added a bedroom and bathroom. The whole experience was incredible. On time. On budget. High quality work. Any hiccup (as there always is) Paul's team did everything in their control to make it right. We felt comfortable with any of their contractors in our house. We're just saving up for the next time we can use them again!

Paul’s crew removed our old wooden deck under roof and replaced it with a brick and concrete veranda with wrought iron railings. Turned a previously unused back porch into our favorite hangout. They also took out the rear wall of our living room and installed French doors with transom. Completely changed the character of the living and kitchen area. Terrific job, guys. Couldn’t be more pleased!

Working with PK Builders for a second time for a kitchen renovation. They are the most professional company - detailed estimate, start date as planned, Gennady kept us up to date at the PM every step of the way, and finished in our 7 week window. It looks amazing and couldn’t be more pleased.

This was the most positive contractor experience I could have ever imagined. I was overseeing the remodeling project remotely from another city so communication was essential. The project manager, Gennady, kept me completely informed, was always available and was extraordinarily responsive. He went above and beyond, not only to communicate, but to suggest things large and small that could improve the final project, reduce costs or add conveniences to the home. We had planned to only reface the kitchen. As a result of their work to reduce other project cost, we found a way to build an entirely new kitchen while adding only a small amount to the overall budget. They partnered so well with with our designer, Interior Design by Marcella, it was like working with a single unified team instead of two companies. Even with several large additions to the project, they finished right on time. Their attention to detail was phenomenal. The punch list at walk through was so small I felt like I was knit picking. We’ve been in the house for two weeks and Gennady continues to check in with us, even stopping by to do minor repairs to things we hadn’t noticed until we moved in. We continue to look around and are amazed at the quality and attention to detail they put into our home. We highly recommend Paul Kowalski Builders and project manager Gennady. Paul and his team were exceptional during our remodel project. We have used them twice in the past three years. The first project was adding an entire 2nd floor and a full remodel of the first floor (excluding the kitchen). Our second project was in 2019 and remodeled our entire kitchen including a bump out as well as adding a screen porch with fireplace. The process and the timing was as close to perfect as one could get. We were on budget and no surprises. Project was completed early on the first remodel (adding the second floor) and on time for the second remodel (kitchen and sunroom). Site was always kept clean and safe. Materials and all fixtures/doors / tile / faucets / floors etc.... high quality and custom. The Builder Trend app was a differentiator for us. It monitors all change orders and pricing. Every Friday the project manager uploaded pictures and job progress reporting. All and and permits were housed on the app. We could basically manage the project from anywhere including when traveling overseas. The PK team was professional and all subs were polite and kept the place very clean and respected the home and the neighborhood. We would recommend Paul Kowalski builders any day.

Paul Kowalski Builders completed our master bathroom renovation as well as an extensive paint job throughout our home, and we could not be more pleased! Our Project Manager, Eric Blythe, was wonderful; he was extremely helpful and responsive, easy to work with, kept to the promised timeline, and was always available when we had a crazy question. We lived in our home throughout the majority of the work and the crew kept our house incredibly clean throughout the process. Moved to Charlotte and upon a recommendation from our realtor hired PKB for a major renovation. They were very communicative, always available when we needed to discuss something and strived very hard to exceed our expectations. They were very easy to work with, and clearly wanted the project to go well - just like us! We heartily recommend them. Our project manager Gennady was especially helpful getting things done and coordinating the subcontractors.

I often recommend Paul on social media and opted to do so here too - we did a complete whole-home renovation with him 3-4 years ago and couldn't be happier. Paul is honest, reasonable, does what he says he will do, makes things right if something is wrong, and his project manager was responsive and detail-oriented - and they do great work. We have since moved from that home and in working with a "semi-custom/custom" new builder (we bought a spec home) it makes me appreciate even more the rarity that is PKB. Hired PK Builders for renovations on our home (Kitchen, Dining, Laundry, doors). They were very flexible with our start date while finalizing financing and easy to reach via emails and calls. Work has been professional and within the estimated timeframe. Those adjustments that need to be made on the fly with any renovations were quickly communicated and decided on. I’ve had several major renovations done over the years at multiple homes and found it frustrating to deal with most contractors. There always seem to be surprises during the project. We used Paul at our new house for a renovation that included a major addition as well as some minor renovation .
