An Outdoor Living Oasis

The family had 2 key priorities,

  1. More parking/garage space converts their drab backyard into an oasis that serves various purposes for all family members.
  2. Pool, covered porch area with heaters, bathroom to access from the pool, firepit, outdoor kitchen, relaxing porch area.
We designed and built a project that included a new detached garage with a large, covered porch on the backside that serves the pool and backyard entertaining area. Tall ceilings, heating elements, a fireplace, and plenty of space to gather make this covered patio a welcoming space year-round. A thoughtfully designed breezeway connects the new structure to the home. From the street, the garage and breezeway look original to the home as the rooflines, materials, and aesthetic all match the home. We had fun on the backside of the breezeway using glass & iron doors and sidelights that provide a stunning view of the backyard.

The rest of the backyard was designed to have multiple gathering areas and “nooks” (firepit, porch off the house, grilling/eating area, relaxing space around the pool). Proper grading and drainage play key roles in the success of this project.

Our Architectural Designers incorporated curves into the hardscapes so the space had an easy flow and “meandering feel” rather than harsh lines and angles.

We fully managed the construction and worked with the pool company to cohesively build this space.
